Hey Steve, if you use MTBlacklist that should really help cut down on the spam. If you continue to have trouble, you can add some strings to your blacklist to help cut down on spam. I added text strings like "casino," "blackjack," "porn," as well as swear words and other words that often appear in spam but not normal comments, and that helped.

I've yet to see a perfect solution, but that seems to work fairly well.

I'm on Word Press so I don't know about MT, but there are some plugins for WP that have really helped me keep spam under control.

Hey guys, thanks for the advice! I'm toying with WordPress right now, but I'm a little daunted about making the switch and not being able to move all my archived posts. Is that hard to do?

Also, I had MTBlacklist installed at one point, but then my friend Kevin (yes, you!) helped me "upgrade" to this version of MT, and I didn't think MTBlacklist worked any more with this version ... or something ... What's up? Do you know anything more about that? I suppose I could go Google it or something ...

Well, since I've never imported MT into WP I don't know how easy or hard it is. I thought I read that the new version of WP 2.0 has some import help built in. Else a search found this tutorial from the old WP help: http://wordpress.org/docs/tutorials/import-mt/
