Pray for the Poets

A couple pieces of sad news today from the world of alternative Christian music:

Johnny PhilipidisLast week, Burlap to Cashmere singer Johnny Philipidis was brutally attacked by another motorist after a collision in Brooklyn. The road rage incident left Philipidis in critical condition and had to be rushed to immediate surgery for the removal of a blod clot in his brain. [HT: Infuze]

Bill MalloneeA poignant Bill Mallonee concert review posted by Ohio-based writer Andy Whitman back in October reveals that one of Mallonee's sons was recently in rehab for cocaine addiction, and, in Mallonee's own words (posted in the comments section), "my marriage [has] failed ... because I have failed ... failed everyone pretty much ... I could use some friends right now ... so could Brenda ... I'm the bad guy here and I'm sorry for failing her, you all and of course, the body of Christ ... keep me in your prayers ... and 'watch, lest ye fall.'"

Let's keep both of these poets in our prayers tonight as they face their own unique struggles.
