Blog Slacker
Just call me a blog slacker. I really feel like I've been slacking off on my blogging lately. It's for good reason, I'm sure ... I've been too busy with work. Too busy with family. Too busy with other obligations. Lately I've been too busy reading books so I can participate in book discussions. Monday night I'll be attending my first Trialogue—a discussion group of Christians, Jews and Muslims here in Gaston County (where I live). The Trialogue group is discussing Abraham by Bruce Feiler. Tuesday night is our monthly Emerging Church Discussion Group, and we'll be discussing the first chapter of Life Together by Dietrich Bonhoeffer (among other things). I'm sure I'll learn much more from these discussions than I will from simply reading these books. I just wish I wasn't so darn busy. And I wish society wasn't so fixate on busy-ness like it is. Busy-ness is the sickness of our culture. I'm feeling sick to my stomach just thinking about it—sitting here blogging when I have so many other things to do. I better go do something else ...
