Blog Infoporn from Web 2.0
Welcome, Googlers searching for porn!
Hey, I didn't create the term "infoporn." I don't even use the term. I'm just quoting Jeff Jarvis, who is pretty much liveblogging the Web 2.0 conference going on in San Francisco. Jarvis relays the latest blog data from Dave Sifry at Technorati:
- BIG NEWS: English is no longer more than half of the blogosphere (Translation: English is now less than 50% of the blogosphere OR Non-English blogs now comprise more than 50% of the blogosphere)
- New blogs are being created at a rate of 12,000 a day
- People are abandoning those blogs at the rate of 45% (i.e. 45% of all blogs have been/will be abandoned?)
- The RSS adoption rate in blogging is only about 31 percent
