How Heinz Helped the Terrorists Win

HeinzSometimes reading the comments on someone's blog entry is just as (or even more) interesting than the blog entry itself. I found that to be true as I was reading Jeff Veen's critique of the new Heinz ketchup bottle design, and the comments that follow it.

Veen laments the new opaque, red plastic bottle which gives the illusion of an always full bottle of ketchup. Conrad (from ShipOfFools.com) suggests attaching a mini-webcam to the inside of the bottle top, to monitor full-ness. John (from Macromedia) suggests that the new bottle design is probably a result of Heinz adding turnips to their ketchup.

However, Chris Woods gives the best rebuttal, postulating that the new ketchup bottle design is probably causing lost revenue for Heinz, which in turn hurts the entire economy, and, in the final analysis, "if the economy suffers, the terrorists win -- all because Heinz decided to make opaque ketchup containers. We should demand a Congressional investigation."

You heard it there first, folks!
